We try to be very realistic about our costs for a project when we provide proposals. We have established solid working relationships with our material vendors after years of working with them, and get very competetive pricing, which we can carry over in our proposal estimates. We calculate labor expenses, then overhead based on estimated number of weeks on a job. We evaluate what your unique project will require and take that into account.
We have a good crew that work well together and compliment each other. Our crew are all hired as W2 employees, with accompanying payroll expenses, and we pay reasonable wages for the Bay Area. We carry full liability insurance, WC insurance, and are of course licensed and bonded.
In general, we feel our prices are pretty tight; we may not always be the lowest price, but the client gets the benefit of years of experience, and a job well done. We have, in fact, been called in after a client has chosen a lower bid, only for them to find they needed someone to take over and fix the project. Remodels are at times more expensive than a new build because of demo and having to incorporate new construction w/ pre-existing conditions. In the event our proposal doesn't meet the clients' budget, we can certainly work with them to see where adaptations might be made, sometimes on both sides, to make it work.
We try to limit the number of projects we are working on at one time so that each job gets the full attention it deserves, before we move on to the next project. We believe our clients appreciate this commitment to quality.
